In the Dover, Deal & District Bar Billiards League Summer League, The Market Inn have secured the title with two matches to spare, after defeating nearest rivals Betteshanger Club 5-1 in Sandwich. Craig Carlson (6,170), Derek Latham (2,830) and Gareth Butcher (3,670) swept the singles, and the wins continued in the doubles for Butcher & Latham (3,580) and Dave Carliell & Carlson (4,120). Dave Howarth & Warren Cowdrey (3,500) gained a consolation point for the visitors.
The Magnet A moved back into second after beating the Plough & Harrow A from Tilmanstone 4-2 in Deal. Ann Keen (2,960) put the Plough ahead, John Higgens (3,430) levelled, and Karen Keen sunk the last ball down the 200 to defeat Lin Callanan 2,170-2,160 and regain the Plough lead. The Magnet took control of the doubles with victories for Higgens & Lin Callanan (4,260), Mike Callanan & Higgens (5,780) and Lin & Mike Callanan (3,970) to secure the match.
The Plough & Harrow B enjoyed a comprehensive 6-0 win at home to the Magnet B in Tilmanstone. Ian Jamieson (1,780), Ron Beer (2,550) and Gerald Gilbert (2,060) swept the singles, with doubles successes for Beer & Gilbert (5,090), Jamieson & Beer (3,930) and Gilbert & Jamieson (3,950).
