In the Dover, Deal & District Bar Billiards League, the Chequer Inn from Ash advanced to the Spring Cup final with a 4-2 win against the Market Inn B. Alan Farra (5,760) put the Market ahead, Neville Potts (4,430) levelled, and Tim Bourner beat Gareth Butcher 5,620-4,820 to put Chequer in front. Wack Sampson & Addley (2,110) extended the Chequer lead, and Bourner & Sampson (1,960) clinched the match, with Butcher & Farra (2,980) taking the last leg for the Market Inn. Chequer Inn will play either Royal Oak or Plough & Harrow B from Bridge in the final.
In the Plate Competition, the Plough & Harrow A from Bridge booked their place in the final with a 4-2 win against the Magnet B. Keith Symes (2,400), Baz Symes (3,300) and Ian Dennett (4,050) swept the singles, and Keith Symes & Dennett (2,430) took the first doubles and the match. The Magnet B picked up the last two legs via Carl Williams & Val Judd (1,650) and Judd & Shirley Cowdrey (2,290).
The Plough & Harrow B from Tilmanstone also reached the Plate final with a 4-2 victory against the Betteshanger Club from Deal. Dave Howarth (1,020) put Betteshanger ahead, before Plough wins for Ian Jamieson (1,440) and Gerald Gilbert (1,700). Ron Beer & Jamieson (1,410) extended the Plough lead, before Ricky Cowdrey & Howarth (1,670) fought back for Betteshanger. Jamieson & Gilbert won the last leg 1,350-1,240 to halt the Betteshanger revival and take the match.
