In the Dover, Deal & District Bar Billiards League, pace setters in Group A, The Chequer Inn from Ash, scored an impressive 6-0 home win against Betteshanger Club. Chris Saville, (9,000), John Addley (9,000) and Neville Potts (6,130) swept the singles, before doubles successes for Saville & Addley (2,550), Wack Sampson & Addley (2,390) and Potts & Sampson (3,280).
The Market Inn A from Sandwich won 4-2 away to the Royal Oak in Nonington. Ted Hogben (2,690) and Derek Latham (2,320) won either side of an Oak victory for Roger Oldfield (1,490). Hogben & Craig Carlson (1,710) took the first doubles, Oldfield & Mark Graves (1,680) gained the Oak's second point, and Carlson & Latham (1,770) sealed the match for the Market.
The Magnet B drew 3-3 at home to Two Sawyers, in Deal. Dawn Williams (2,800) and Val Judd (2,410) put the Magnet ahead, before a Sawyers win for Stuart Richardson (3,310). Alan Smith & Richard Cousens (2,580) levelled the tie, Williams & Judd (2,090) regained the Magnet lead, before Smith & Richardson (1,870) forced the draw.
In Group B, the Market Inn B remain top after a 4-2 win at home to the Plough & Harrow A from Bridge. Ian Dennett (4,640) and Keith Symes (4,620) won either side of a Gareth Butcher (3,970) win for the Market. The Sandwich side took all the doubles, via Butcher & Dave Carliell (1,800), Alan Farra & Butcher (1,590) and Carliell & Farra (2,000) to secure the match.
The Plough & Harrow B from Bridge won 6-0 at home to the Magnet A. Stan Brocklebank (4,900), John Fullager (5,640) and Kevin Kay (5,250) swept the singles, before doubles victories for Brocklebank & Kay (2,560), Fullager & Brocklebank (1,710) and Kay & Fullager (3,740).
In Tilmanstone, the two Plough & Harrow sides met, with the A beating the B 5-1. Ann Keen (3,050), Karen Keen (3,320) and Brian Carpenter (2,400) took the singles for the A, before Ian Jamieson & James Tidmarsh (1,540) gained the B’s point. The last two legs went to the A via Ann Keen & Karen Keen (1,850) and Karen Keen & Carpenter (1,450).
