In the Dover, Deal & District Bar Billiards League, leaders Market Inn B drew 3-3 with the Market Inn A. Craig Carlson (2,800) put the A ahead, before B wins for Alan Farra (6,620) and Dave Carliell (3,010). Ted Hogben & Carlson (5,070) levelled with the first doubles, and Carliell & Farra (3,950) regained the lead for the B. Carlson & Derek Latham beat Gareth Butcher & Carliell 5,910-4,060 in the last leg to gain the draw between the two Market Inn teams.
The Chequer Inn, Ash drew a tight match 3-3 with The Two Sawyers A. Neville Potts (7,420) opened with a win for the home side, but Alan Smith (7,990) hit back for the visitors before Wack Sampson (5,860) took the last singles for Chequer. Gary Clarke & Smith (3,930) levelled in the first doubles, before Clarke & Richard Cousens beat Tim Bourner & Potts 5,240-5,200 as Clarke finished with a 1,440 break and potted the last ball to win. Potts & Sampson (7,570) impressively won the last leg to force the draw.
In Division Two, leaders Royal Oak won 4-2 away to the Two Sawyers B. John Miller (5,910) put Sawyers ahead courtesy of a 3,500 break, before Oak wins for Mark Graves (5,110) and Steve Lake (1,930). Nigel Scott & Graves (4,830) took the first doubles, but Adrian Wicken & Miller defeated Graves & Lake 2,950-2,910 for Sawyers, sinking the last ball to win. Lake & Scott (5,030) won the last leg for the match victory.
Betteshanger Club won 4-2 away to the Magnet B in Deal. Val Judd edged Ricky Cowdrey 1,580-1,520, and Dawn Williams (1,650) also won to put the Magnet 2-0 up. Dave Howarth (3,020) took the final singles for Betteshanger. Howarth & Warren Cowdrey (3,770) took the first doubles, with further Betteshanger successes for Ward Griffiths & Warren Cowdrey (2,780) and Warren Cowdrey & Ricky Cowdrey (5,020) for the match victory.
