In the Dover, Deal & District Bar Billiards League, Group A leaders Betteshanger won 6-0 at home to the Magnet A. Neville Potts (10,400), Wack Sampson (5,640) and John Addley (8,700) swept the singles, with Sampson & Potts (3,010) taking the first doubles and the match. The final legs went to Addley & Sampson (1,880) and Potts & Addley (1,910).
Third-placed Royal Oak beat second-placed Plough & Harrow A from Bridge 4-2, to maintain hope of a top-two finish. Steve Lake (2,490) put the Oak ahead, before Plough victories for Baz Symes (3,550) and Keith Symes (3,500). Nigel Scott & Lake (2,350) and Roger Oldfield & Scott (1,930) took the first doubles, before Lake & Oldfield edged Ian Dennett & Baz Symes 1,450-1,350 to snatch the match.
The Brickmakers B won 6-0 away to the Magnet B, to virtually ensure a middle-table finish. Warren Cowdrey (4,430), Ricky Cowdrey (3,730) and Dave Howarth (4,140) swept the singles, with further Brickies successes in the doubles via Ricky Cowdrey & Warren Cowdrey (1,420), Warren Cowdrey & Howarth (2,430) and Howarth & Ricky Cowdrey (2,810).
In Group B, the Market Inn A defeated the Plough & Harrow A from Tilmanstone 4-2, so have almost certainly avoided the Plate after a poor start to the competition. Ann Keen (3,430) put the Plough ahead, before Market victories for Craig Carlson (3,540) and Derek Latham (6,870). Latham & Carlson (2,430) took the first doubles, before Brian Carpenter & Keen (2,690) gave the Plough hope of a draw, which was soon extinguished by Carlson & Ted Hogben (2,100).
The Market Inn B won 4-2 away to the Plough & Harrow B, so remain half a point behind their A side. Harry Pearson (2,200) put the Plough in front, but Gareth Butcher (4,780) and Alan Farra (3,710) responded well. Butcher & Farra (1,940) gained the first doubles, Gerald Gilbert & Phil Court (1,300) reduced the deficit for the Plough, before Dave Carliell & Butcher (1,780) claimed the match victory.
