In the Dover, Deal & District Bar Billiards League, Group A leaders Betteshanger won 5-1 away to the Brickmakers B. Chris Saville (3,070), John Addley (7,040) and Neville Potts (7,420) swept the singles for Betteshanger, before Warren Cowdrey & Dave Howarth (1,380) gained the Brickies point in the first doubles. Potts & Wack Sampson (1,950) and Sampson & Saville (2,150) took the remaining legs and the match.

The Royal Oak Won 5-1 away to the Magnet B to maintain the pressure at the top. Mark Graves (4,620), Nigel Scott (5,100) and Steve Lake (4,090) took the singles for the visitors, but Donna Prior & Dawn Williams (2,280) gained the first doubles for the Deal team. Graves & Lake (2,580) and Scott & Graves (1,860) ensured the match victory for the Oak.

The Plough & Harrow A from Bridge won 5-1 at home to the Magnet A. Baz Symes (7,980) and Keith Symes (5,610) won either side of a Magnet success for Mike Callanan (6,100). Baz & Keith Symes took the first doubles 1,740-1,610, Keith Symes & Dennett (2,460) also won for the Plough, and lastly Baz Symes needed the 200 as he and Dennett defeated John Higgens & Lin Callanan 1,780-1,760.

 

In Group B, the Two Sawyers have moved top after beating the Market Inn B 5.5-0.5. Gary Clarke (6,760), Alan Smith (4,280) and Stuart Richardson (4,870) swept the singles for Sawyers, before a drawn first doubles between Richardson & Richard Cousens and Alan Farra & Dave Carliell 1560-each. Clarke & Smith (1,510) and Cousens & Clarke (2,050) took the remaining games.

The Plough & Harrow B from Bridge won 4-2 away to the Market Inn A. Craig Carlson needed the 200 to defeat John Fullager 2,800-2,790, Kevin Kay (5,180) levelled and Ted Hogben (2,720) regained the Market lead. The visitors took control in the doubles via Kay & Fullager (2,030), Fullager & Stan Brocklebank (2,150) and Brocklebank & Kay (3,040).

The Plough & Harrow from Tilmanstone A and B teams enjoyed an honourable 3-3 draw. Ann Keen (5,250) put the A ahead, before B successes for Phil Court (1,710) and Gerald Gilbert (1,590). Brian Carpenter & Ann Keen (1,580) levelled, Court & Harry Pearson (1,140) regained the B lead, and finally Karen Keen & Carpenter won 1,550-1,520 to force the draw.
