In the Dover, Deal & District Bar Billiards Winter League, Betteshanger Club are one victory away from the title after a 4-2 win at home to the Magnet A. Chris Saville (6,130) and John Addley (9,030) won for Betteshanger, before Mike Callanan (6,570) gained a point for the visitors. Wack Sampson & Saville (5,930) and Addley & Saville (6,280) secured the match, while Lin Callanan & Mike Callanan (3,670) took the last leg.
The Plough & Harrow B from Bridge have moved second after a 3-3 draw against the Plough & Harrow A. John Fullager (6,960) and Stan Brocklebank (4,900) won for the B, either side of an A success for Ian Dennett (7,870). Dennett & Baz Symes (4,730) took the first doubles, and Baz Symes & Keith Symes edged Brocklebank 4,720-4580, Keith Symes finishing a late 920 break with the red ball down the 200 hole to snatch the leg. Fullager & Brocklebank (5,070) gained the last game and the draw.
The bottom-two sides met in Nonington where the Royal Oak and the Two Sawyers A drew 3-3. Mark Graves (8,070) and Steve Lake (2,890) both won for the Oak, with Gary Clarke (3,860) victorious for Sawyers. Graves & Lake (3,790) took the first doubles, but the Woolage Green team fought-back via Clarke & Alan Smith (4,840) and Stuart Richardson & Richard Cousens (4,140) for the draw.
 
In Division Two, the Market Inn B won 6-0 away to the Magnet B to go into the festive break with a healthy lead. Dave Carleill (1,540), Gareth Butcher (4,840) and Alan Farra (4,870) swept the singles, Butcher courtesy of a 3,180 break. After Butcher & Farra (3,810) and Carliell & Butcher (3,540) took the first two doubles, Farra & Carliell edged Dawn Williams & Shirley Cowdrey 3,200-2,850 to complete the victory.
The Brickmakers B are now the only challengers for promotion after a 5-1 victory away to the Plough & Harrow A in Tilmanstone. Dave Howarth (4,000), Warren Cowdrey (5,300) and Ricky Cowdrey (5,200) took the singles for the Brickies, Warren Cowdrey hitting a 3,640 break. Warren Cowdrey & Howarth (5,790) took the first doubles and the match, before Ann Keen & Karen Keen (4,880) gained the Plough’s consolation point. A Howarth & Ricky Cowdrey (3,840) success rounded-off the evening.
