In the Dover, Deal & District Bar Billiards Winter League, leaders Betteshanger Club trounced the Two Sawyers A 6-0 in Deal, to stretch a huge advantage at the top. Chris Saville (6,040), Neville Potts (5,210) and John Addley (5,030) swept the singles, followed by all the doubles, Wack Sampson & Addley (7,140) high-scoring.

 

The Market Inn A remain second after a 4-2 home win against the Plough & Harrow A from Bridge. Keith Symes (5,490) put the visitors ahead, before Craig Carlson (6,200) and Derek Latham (8,200) won for the Sandwich side, Latham courtesy of a 7,310 break. Doubles successes for Latham & Ted Hogben (5,420) and Carlson & Latham (3,850) secured the match, and Keith Symes & Ian Dennett (6,430) took the last leg.

 

In Division Two, the Market Inn B won 4-2 away to the Plough & Harrow A, Tilmanstone, to further strengthen their promotion push. Gareth Butcher (5,260), Alan Farra (4,460) and Dave Carliell (1,560) swept the singles, and Farra & Carliell (5,020) took the first doubles and the match. Brian Carpenter & Ann Keen (3,100) picked up the Plough’s consolation point, before Butcher & Farra (5,790) completed the victory.

 

The Brickmakers A defeated the Magnet B 5.5-0.5 in an all-Deal match. Chris Gent (1,660), Ann Garlinge (1,870) and Paul Garlinge (3,140) took the singles for the Brickies, while Paul Garlinge & Gent drew 2,290 each with Tanya Philpott & Shirley Cowdrey. The last two doubles went to the Brickies, Ann Garlinge & Paul Garlinge (2,990) high-scoring.
The Plough & Harrow B, Tilmanstone, won 6-0 away to the Two Sawyers B. Phil Court (2,240), Ken Keen (1,680) and Ron Beer (3,600) took the singles, and the doubles followed suit, Beer & Court (2,760) gaining the last leg.
