In the Dover, Deal & District Bar Billiards Winter League, leaders Betteshanger Club won 4-2 away to defending champions Plough & Harrow B in Bridge. Chris Saville (11,200) and John Addley (10,950) put the visitors ahead, before John Fullager (10,750) won for the Plough. In some high-scoring and close doubles, Addley & Saville won 6,170-5,850, and Saville & Wack Sampson edged their game 4,240-4,020 for an unassailable lead. Kevin Kay & Fullager took the last leg 5,170-5,090.

The Royal Oak defeated the Market Inn A 5-1 in Nonington. Mark Graves (3,130), Roger Oldfield (3,180) and Steve Lake (4,860) swept the singles, and Oldfield & Graves (6,860) took the first doubles and the match. Craig Carlson & Derek Latham (4,120) gained a consolation point for the visitors.

The Magnet A enjoyed a goods away win, 4-2 at the Two Sawyers A. Mike Callanan (4,350) won for the Magnet, before Sawyers successes for Stuart Richardson (6,850) and Gary Clarke (2,250). All the doubles went to the visitors, via Mike Callanan & John Higgens (4,760), Lin Callanan & Mike Callanan (3,830) and Higgens & Lin Callanan (2,810).

 

In Division Two, the Market Inn B defeated nearest-challengers Brickmakers B 5-1 in Sandwich. Gareth Butcher (4,870), Dave Carliell (990) and Alan Farra (4,890) swept the singles, plus the first two doubles, including Carliell & Butcher (4,880). Ward Griffiths & Rick Cowdrey (3,010) picked up the last leg for the Brickies.

The Plough & Harrow A, Tilmanstone, won 5-1 away to the Brickmakers A in Deal. Paul Garlinge (1,920) put the Brickies ahead, before Plough victories for Karen Keen (1,860) and Ann Keen (2,670). All the doubles went to the Plough, the crucial fourth success for Karen Keen & Brian Carpenter (3,110).

The Magnet B enjoyed a 4-2 win away to the Two Sawyers B in Woolage Green. Shirley Cowdrey (2,420) and Dawn Williams (1,670) won either side of a Sawyers victory for Dave Wiltshire (1,600). Phil Rye & Craig Brown (2,270) levelled the match, but doubles successes for Cowdrey & Williams (1,980) and Tanya Philpott & Cowdrey (1,870) delivered the Magnet victory.
