The Brickmakers B stay second after defeating fellow Deal-side Magnet B 4-2. Tanya Philpott (2,130) and Dawn Williams (2,650) took two of the three singles to put the Magnet ahead, but strong doubles games gave the Brickies the match, including Dave Howarth & Ricky Cowdrey (5,100).

Jersey “World Championships” 2008.
Four players from Dover & Deal travelled to Jersey for the annual championships there, known as the World Championships, joining over 200 hopefuls from south England and the Channel Islands. Chris Saville was most successful, reaching a creditable fourth round, having eliminated nationally second-ranked Stephen Sheard of Oxfordshire in the third round. Di Wellburn and Ted Hogben both reached the second round. Defending champion Trevor Galliene of Guernsey retained his title.
First round losers at Jersey go into a Plate Competition, where Craig Carlson enjoyed an excellent run, losing in the quarter-finals to eventual Plate winner Alan Brackenridge of Sussex.
The World Pairs championships are held concurrently in Jersey, and Carlson teamed-up with Vinny Mitchell of Tunbridge Wells and had another good tournament, reaching that quarter-final too, where they lost a close match to Dennis Atkins & Geoff Jukes of Oxfordshire.
Kevin Tunstall & Kevin Hill of Sussex took the title.
