featuring two groups
of four teams, the top
two of each
progressing to the
next group phase, the
remainder to the Plate
Competition. All games
are limited to maximum
2000 breaks.
In Group One, The
Plough & Harrow Bridge
won 5-1 away to the
Plough & Harrow A,
Tilmanstone. Baz Symes
(5,490) put Bridge
ahead, before Ann Keen
defeated Ian Dennett
4,590-3,710 for
Tilmanstone. Keith
Symes (4,460) took the
last singles to regain
the Plough Bridge
lead. Dennett & Baz
Symes edged Ann Keen &
Karen Keen 4,450-4,300
in the first doubles,
with Keith Symes &
Dennett (4,330) and
Baz Symes & Keith
Symes (3,900)
completing the
victory.
The Brickmakers B
defeated the
Brickmakers A 5-1 in
Deal. Dave Howarth
(2,360), Warren
Cowdrey (2,360) and
Ricky Cowdrey (1,230)
swept the singles for
the B, with Howarth &
Warren Cowdrey (2,220)
taking the first
doubles and the match.
Paul Garlinge & Chris
Gent won 2,330-2,300
for the Brickies A
point, and Warren
Cowdrey & Ricky
Cowdrey (3,920) took
the last leg.
In Group Two, the
Magnet A defeated the
Magnet B 5-1. Lin
Callanan (1,740) and
John Higgens (3,640)
won for the A, either
side of a B success
for Shirley Cowdrey
(2,400). All the
doubles games went to
the Magnet A. via Lin
Callanan & Mike
Callanan (3,680), Mike

Defending champions

Sandwich got off to a
good start with a 5-1
win at home to the
Plough & Harrow B,
Tilmanstone. Gareth

swept the singles for
the Market Inn, and
Latham & Dave Carliell

doubles and the match.

Pearson edged Ted
Hogben & Dave Carliell

evening.
