their lead at the top of
Group A with a 4-2 win away
at the Brickmakers B.
Warren Cowdrey (2,360) won
for the Brickies, but the
visitors hit back with wins
for Neville Potts (4,820)
and Chris Saville (8,180),
Saville's courtesy of a
6,900 break. Cowdrey & Dave
Howarth (1,650), levelled in
the first doubles, but
Betteshanger took the last
two legs via Potts & Wack
Sampson (2,370) and Saville
& Potts (1,630), Potts
hitting a triangles-break of
820.
The Plough & Harrow B,
Tilmanstone drew 3-3 at home
to second-placed Two
Sawyers. Gerald Gilbert
(2,120) gave Plough the
lead, before Sawyers
victories for Stuart
Richardson (2,480) and
Richard Cousens (3,210).
Cousens & Richardson (2,030)
took the first doubles, but
the home side rallied via
Gilbert & Harry Pearson
(1,540), before Phil Court &
Gilbert won the last leg
1,230-1,130 potting the last
ball down the 200 hole to
force the draw.
The Royal Oak are a close
third after defeating the
Market Inn B 5-1. Roger
Oldfield (5,040) and Mark
Graves (2,420) won either
side of a Market victory for
Gareth Butcher (2,780). All
three doubles went to the
Oak via Oldfield & Nigel
Scott (1,580), Scott &
Graves (3,110) and Steve
Lake & Scott (1,330), to
complete the victory.
In Group B, third-placed
Market Inn A defeated
second-placed Plough &
Harrow B, Bridge, 4-2 in
Sandwich. Craig Carlson
(5,670) put the home side
ahead, before Plough
successes for John Fullager
(3,670) and Kevin Kay
(3,110). John Skinner & Ted
Hogben (2,760) levelled
after Hogben hit a 900
triangles-break, Derek
Latham & Skinner (1,440) put
the Market in front, and

completed the victory.

a rare mechanical failure
prevented the final two
matches from being played,
resulting in an awarded
draw.
