In the Dover, Deal & District Bar Billiards League the Royal Oak, Nonington are early leaders after a 3-3 draw away to the Two Sawyers at Woolage Green.  Stuart Richardson (2,240) won for the hone side, Roger Oldfield (3,160) levelled, and Alan Smith edged Mark Graves 2,550-2,420 to regain the lead for Sawyers.  Richard Cousens & Stuart Richardson won 2,800-2,760 to extend the lead, but victories for Oldfield & Graves (2,540) and Nigel Scott & Oldfield (4,240) forced the draw.

The Betteshanger Alma Lions beat deal rivals Magnet A 4-2.  Neville Potts (4,010) won with the last ball, and Wack Sampson (6,200) gave Betteshanger a 2-0 lead.  Mike Callanan beat Chris Saville 6,770-5,890 for the Magnet in the final singles. The first two doubles saw the home side secure the win, with victories for Sampson & Potts (6,690) and then Potts & Saville (5,880). The Magnet took the last leg as Callanan & John Higgens (5,910) completed a high scoring evening at the Betteshanger Club.

 

In Division Two, the Brickmakers B & the Plough & Harrow A, Tilmanstone are joint leaders after a 3-3 draw in Deal.  Warren Cowdrey (1,810) put the Brickies ahead, before Karen Keen (2,040) and Brian Carpenter (2,400) put the Plough in front.  Ann Keen & Karen Keen (1,530) extended their lead, but Steve Philpott & Dave Howarth (2,790) and Cowdrey & Philpott (1,870) ensured an equal share of the points. 

The final fixture saw the Betteshanger Club B win 5-1 away to the Magnet B, in a match between the league’s two newest teams.  Donna Prior (2,960) put the Magnet ahead, but the Luke (2,970) and Dave (1,560) of Betteshanger reversed the score line.  Bill Edwards played all three doubles and won them all, high-scoring with 3,940
