In the Summer League, leaders the Market Inn suffered their first defeat – 4-2 away to the Brickmakers Arms B in Deal.  Ricky Cowdrey (4,160) put the Brickies ahead, before Craig Carlson (2,670) and Gareth Butcher (2,850) took the other two singles for the Sandwich side.  Warren Cowdrey & Ricky Cowdrey (2,080) levelled the match, and further doubles successes for Ricky Cowdrey & Steve Philpott (3,710) and Philpott & Warren Cowdrey (4,660) gave victory to the Brickies.

The Magnet A beat the Magnet B 6-0, and are now only 2 points behind the leaders.  Lin Callanan (1,590) and Mike Callanan (5,280) took the first two singles, followed by a narrow 2,160-1,710 win for John Higgens against Carl Williams.  Lin Callanan & Mike Callanan (3,830) secured the match in the first doubles, and the final two legs followed for the A, the last going to Mike Callanan & Higgens (2,540).

The Plough & Harrow B, Tilmanstone, defeated the Brickmakers Arms A 4-2 at home.  Brian Whitley edged Craig Lancaster 1,470-1,310 for the Plough, and Harry Pearson (3,110) extended their lead, courtesy of a 1,650 break.  Paul Garlinge (1,990) took the final singles for the Brickies A.  Gerald Gilbert & Pearson narrowly defeated Chris Gent & Ann Garlinge 2,380-2,080 in the first doubles, but Lancaster & Ann Garlinge just beat Pearson & Whitley 1,470-1,180 to give the Deal team hope of a draw.  Whitley & Gilbert (1,920) took the last leg to extinguish that hope.
