The Market Inn from Sandwich remain top of the Summer League after a hard-fought 4-2 home victory against second-placed Plough & Harrow B from Tilmanstone.  Gareth Butcher (3,250) put the Market ahead, before Plough wins for Ken Keen (3,560) and Gerald Gilbert (1,470).  The Market Inn took control of the doubles to win the match, with successes for Butcher & Craig Carlson (5,030), Derek Latham & Carlson (4,580) and Dave Carliell & Latham (4,210).

The Magnet A from Deal won 4-2 away to the Plough & Harrow A, Tilmanstone.  Ann Keen (2,300) put the Plough ahead, but Lin Callanan (1,400) beat Brian Carpenter, after Carpenter had back-pegged needing the 200 to win.  Mike Callanan (4,150) took the final singles for the Magnet to put them in front.  Carpenter & Ron Beer (3,060) levelled the match, but victories for John Higgens & Lin Callanan (3,860) and Mike Callanan & Higgens (4,650) gave the Magnet A the victory.

In an all-Deal match, the Brickmakers Arms A won 5-1 away to the Magnet B.  Chris Gent (1,790) and Craig Lancaster (1,260) both won for the Brickies, and Ann Garlinge edged Dawn Williams 1,940-1,560 to complete a clean-sweep of the singles.  Lancaster & Paul Garlinge narrowly defeated Carl Williams & Dawn Williams 1,600-1,270 to secure the match, but Dawn Williams & Shirley Cowdrey won their match 1,130-890 for the Magnet’s point.  Gent & Paul Garlinge (2,150) won the final match.
