In Group A, the Betteshanger Alma Lions beat the Royal Oak, Nonington, 4-2.  Wack Sampson (4,770) won for Betteshanger, Gary Clarke (3,840) levelled, before Chris Saville (9,070) regained the lead after a 7,600 break.  Betteshanger also took the first doubles, Richard Cousens & Stuart Richardson (1,350) won for the Royal Oak, and finally Neville Potts & Saville (1,930) gained the last leg and the match.

In an all-Sandwich tie, the Market Inn and the Greyhound drew 3-3.  John Laundrie (3,330) won for the Market, before Greyhound successes for Alan Farra (2,560) and Dave Carliell (2,210).  Carliell & Farra (2,650) took the first doubles, before victories for Laundrie & Ted Hogben (2,430) and Derek Latham & Laundrie (3,660) forced the draw.

Another draw saw a 3-3 standoff between the Plough & Harrow A, Tilmanstone and the Brickmakers B.  Warren Cowdrey (2,330) and Dave Howarth (2,150) put the Brickies 2-0 up, before a Plough success for Ann Keen (2,470).  Dawn Williams & Ricky Cowdrey won 2,250-2,200, but a late comeback saw wins for Ann Keen & Karen Keen (1,710) and Karen Keen & Brian Carpenter (1,780) for the draw.

 

In Group B, the Fitzwalter Arms and the Plough & Harrow Bridge drew 3-3, to put the Plough top.  Ian Dennett (5,710) and Baz Symes (2,840) put the Plough 2-0 up, Steve Lake (2,580) winning for the Fitz.  Lake & Nigel Scott (2,160) levelled, Baz & Keith Symes (2,120) won for the Plough, and finally Mark Graves potted the red ball down the 200 to force the draw as he & Scott won 2,310-2,110.

The Magnet A defeated the Plough & Harrow B, Tilmanstone 4-2.  John Higgens (4,190), Mike Callanan (5,680) and Ward Griffiths (2,250) took the singles, and Lin Callanan & Griffiths (2,010) secured the match in the first doubles.  Consolation wins for Harry Pearson & Gerald Gilbert (1,710) and Gilbert & Ken Keen (2,260) followed.
