The Market Inn defeated the Plough & Harrow from Bridge 4-2 in Sandwich .  Craig Carlson (4,750) and Derek Latham (11,180) both won for the Market, Latham hitting a 7,060 break, before Ian Dennett (4,220) gained a point for the visitors.  Baz Symes & Keith Symes won 3,050-2,780 to level, but victories for John Laundrie & Carlson (2,180) and Carlson & Latham (6,030) sealed the victory.

The Fitzwalter Arms, Goodnestone, beat the Greyhound 5-1, leaving the Sandwich side in danger of relegation.  Roger Oldfield (1,190) and Steve Lake (2,850) were both successes for the Fitz, before Alan Farra (5,240) won for the Greyhound.  Victories for Mark Graves & Oldfield (3,640) and Lake & Graves (3,210) sealed the overall victory, with the last leg also going to the Fitz.

 

In Division Two, the Brickmakers A drew 3-3 with the Plough & Harrow A, Tilmanstone.  Ann Keen (4,600) and Karen Keen (3,330) won for the Plough, before a Paul Garlinge (2,280) success for the Brickies.  Ann Keen & Brian Carpenter (2,630) took the first doubles, but the Brickies fought back via Paul Garlinge & Ann Garlinge (2,420) and Craig Lancaster & Paul Garlinge (2,600).

The Plough & Harrow B, Tilmanstone defeated the Brickmakers B 5-1.  Ken Keen (2,500) won for the Plough, and Harry Pearson won 2,310-2,250 to extend their lead, before a win for Dave Howarth (1,400).  All three doubles went to the Plough B, Keen & Gerald Gilbert (3,620) high-scoring.

In Division Two, the Plough & Harrow A, Tilmanstone lost to pub rivals Plough & Harrow B Tilmanstone 6-0.  This result is a crushing blow to the Plough A’s title hopes, leaving the Magnet A within touching distance of an immediate promotion.  Phil Court (1,750), Gerald Gilbert (4,070) and Harry Pearson (2,050) all won their singles, and the match was decided in the first doubles as Pearson & Court (2,830) took their match.  Gilbert & Pearson (3,160) won the penultimate leg, with the closest game being the last as Court & Gilbert defeated Ann Keen & Karen Keen 2,430-2,030.

The Brickmakers Arms B enjoyed a 5-1 success at home to fellow Deal team Magnet B.  Ricky Cowdrey (2,940) put the Brickies ahead before Chris Gent (2,170) levelled.  Gent won his first singles in six attempts last week, and will be glad to make it two wins on the trot.  Warren Cowdrey (4,140) restored the Brickies advantage in the final singles game.  Dave Howarth & Shirley Cowdrey (2,420) took the first doubles, and the match was decided in the next leg as Warren Cowdrey & Howarth beat Gent & Tanya Philpott 2,220-1,770, with Ricky Cowdrey & Howarth (2,150) completing the victory.
