In Division One, the Plough & Harrow from Bridge
enjoyed an impressive 5-1 home win against the Market
Inn. Ian
Dennett (9,290) won for the Plough courtesy of a 5,630
break, Keith Symes (3,820) was also successful, but
Craig Carlson defeated Baz Symes 4,720-3,520 for the
Market Inn’s point.
All the doubles went to the Plough, including a
5,370-3,750 victory for Keith Symes & Dennett
against Derek Latham & John Laundrie.
The
Greyhound defeated the Fitzwalter Arms 5-1 in
Sandwich
. Dave
Carliell (2,670) and Gareth Butcher (5,880) both won
for the Greyhound, before Mark Graves (4,440) won for
the Fitz, after a break of 3,240.
Christine Farra & Alan Farra (3,470) took
the first doubles, and the match was then secured via
Butcher & Christine Farra (3,440), with the
Greyhound also winning the last leg.
In
Division Two, the Plough & Harrow A from
Tilmanstone defeated the Brickmakers Arms A 4-2 to
move top. Ann
Garlinge (1,860) and Paul Garlinge (2,300) gave the
Deal side a 2-0 lead, but Ann Keen (3,130) started the
fight back for the Plough.
Carpenter & Ann Keen (2,530) gained the
first doubles, Karen Keen & Carpenter (2,930) put
them in front, and Ann Keen & Karen Keen (2,770)
completed the match victory.

Elsewhere,
Chris Saville guested for the White Hart from
Tunbridge Wells in The National Bar Billiards
Association tournament of county champions, in
Reading
. Though the White Hart did not qualify from their
group Saville won all three matches.
He started with the break against Chris Reeves,
from Sussex and opened with 8k, was against the break
against Fred Large from Hampshire and won, and in the
final game Saville played ex national president Keith
Lewendon who started with 3k, Saville ran the bar with
11k to get the highest break and highest average on
the day (9200), a performance which lifts Saville to
number 5 in the national rankings.
