The final week of the Summer League saw deposed champions Market Inn regain some pride with a 5-1 win over new champions Plough & Harrow from Bridge.  Gareth Butcher (4,890), Dave Carliell (3,880) and Derek Latham (5,960) took the singles, all knocking decent breaks with the maximum 2,000 break format, Butcher hitting 1,880, Carliell 1,490 and Latham 1,980.  The doubles continued in similar fashion with victories for Latham & Ted Hogben (4,840) and Butcher & Latham (5,460), with the Plough finally gaining their consolation point in the last leg via Ian Dennett & Baz Symes (4,780).

The Magnet A beat the Brickmakers Arms B 5-1 in an all-Deal match.  Things started well for the Brickies with victory for Warren Cowdrey (2,120), but John Higgens beat Dave Howarth 1,820-1,450 followed by another Magnet A win for Mike Callanan (4,460).  Higgens & Lin Callanan (1,970) gained the first doubles, before Lin Callanan & Ward Griffiths won a last-ball game 2,780-2,730 against Rick Cowdrey & Dawn Williams.  Mike Callanan & Lin Callanan (3,680) took the final leg to wrap up the match victory.

The Plate competition has been won by the Plough & Harrow A, Tilmanstone, after they battled to a 3-3 draw against the Plough & Harrow B, Tilmanstone, leaving the A just one point clear of their B team.  Harry Pearson (3,020) took the first singles for the B, before Ron Beer (3,510) and Ann Keen (2,660) won the next two to put the A ahead.  Phil Court & Gerald Gilbert edged Keen & Brian Carpenter 2,870-2,610 to level the match, and Gilbert & Pearson (3,140) also won to give the lead to the B.  With the two sides so close at the top of the group, the winners of the final leg would lift the Plate, and Beer & Keen (4,170) emerged victorious for the A.

The final match saw the Magnet B defeat the Brickmakers Arms A 4-2, to consign the Brickies to the wooden spoon.  Tanya Philpott (2,710), Steve Philpott (3,030) took the first two singles, and Chris Gent narrowly defeated Ann Garlinge 1,180-1,150 to complete a clean-sweep of the singles for the Magnet B.  The first doubles saw Paul Garlinge & Craig Lancaster edge Tanya Philpott & Gent 2,460-2,330, followed by another very close leg with Ann Garlinge & Paul Garlinge winning 2,110-2,070 against Steve Philpott & Tanya Philpott, reducing the deficit for the Brickies to 2-3.  The final game saw Gent & Steve Philpott just beat Lancaster & Ann Garlinge 1,520-1,250 for the match victory.
