In Group A, the Market Inn won 5-1 at home to the Plough & Harrow A, Tilmanstone, a result which squeezes the Sandwich side into the next group stage, and sends the Plough into the Plate competition.  Early wins for Derek Latham (3,680) and Craig Carlson (3,570) put the Market Inn ahead, before Ron Beer (2,130) beat Gareth Butcher in a close game for the Plough in the final singles.  The first doubles saw Butcher & Carlson just defeat Beer & Ann Keen 3,080-2,880, after Carlson had opened with a 1,920 break.  Carlson & Latham (4,820) took the next doubles to ensure the match victory and qualification, with Carlson hitting a 1,840 break and Latham a maximum 2,000.  Latham & Butcher (3,640) also won the final frame for the Market Inn to end a spirited Summer League challenge for the Plough.

The Magnet A from Deal beat the Magnet B 4-2, meaning the A finish top of Group A and progress to the next group stage.  Chris Gent (2,420) put the B ahead, but wins for Mike Callanan (4,120) and John Higgens (3,640) gave the advantage to the A after the singles.  The first doubles saw Higgens & Lin Callanan win a last-ball game against Steve Philpott & Tanya Philpott 2,510-2,400.  The B gained their second point in the next doubles as Tanya Philpott & Justin Philpott defeated Lin Callanan & Ward Griffiths 2,450-1,860, but Mike Callanan & Lin Callanan (3,850) took the final leg to claim the match victory.

The Plough & Harrow from Bridge finished a distant top of Group B after a 4-2 win away to the Plough & Harrow B, Tilmanstone.  The Plough Bridge swept the singles with victories for Keith Symes (2,900), Baz Symes (3,610) and Ian Dennett (3,490), and also took the first doubles with Baz Symes & Keith Symes (4,120).  Ken Keen & Gerald Gilbert (4,560) took the next doubles for the Plough Tilmanstone B, and that was followed by a close win, 3,920-3,810 for Gilbert & Harry Pearson against Keith Symes & Dennett.

The Brickmakers Arms B from Deal went into the last game needing just half a point to book their place in the next group stage of the main competition, and in fact won 4-2 against the Brickmakers Arms A.  Shirley Cowdrey beat Ann Garlinge 1,720-1,380 for the B, but Alan Holmwood edged Rick Cowdrey 1,830-1,610 to level matters.  Warren Cowdrey narrowly defeated Paul Garlinge 2,000-1,880 to re-establish the lead for the Brickies B.  The first doubles saw Ann Garlinge & Paul Garlinge defeat Dawn Williams & Rick Cowdrey 1,240-700 to again level the match, but the final two doubles were not as close as the B won them both via Shirley Cowdrey & Dave Howarth (2,910) and Howarth & Warren Cowdrey (2,680).
