Spring Cup, semi-final: Alma Lions 3 Chantry 3.
Spring Cup, Plate, final: Greyhound 4 P&H Tilmanstone A 2.

The Greyhound, Sandwich have won the Spring Cup Plate competition after a 4-2 win against the Plough & Harrow A from Tilmanstone, in a match plated at the Magnet.  Alan Farra (6,150) put the Greyhound ahead, before Karen Keen (2,710) levelled for the Plough & Harrow.  Gareth Butcher beat Ann Keen 4,240-2,540 to win the key final singles, putting the
Sandwich side 2-1 up with a healthy aggregate lead.  In the triangles-rules doubles, Dave Carliell & Butcher beat Brian Carpenter & Ann Keen 1,700-1,350, including a 620 break from Butcher, to give the Greyhound an almost unassailable lead.  Karen Keen & Carpenter edged Butcher & Christine Farra 1,790-1,660 but the Plate trophy was confirmed in the final leg as Alan Farra & Carliell defeated Ann Keen & Karen Keen 1,580-1,260.

This semi-final was a repeat of last years final and could not have produced a closer match as the Alma Lions, Deal beat the Chantry Club, Canterbury over aggregate scores with the games tied at 3-3.  The Chantry won the toss and chose to be the home team, but lost the first advantage as Neville Potts (5,240) played the table well on his way to beating Chris Cook, which included an opening break of 3,850. The Chantry hit back immediately as John Fullager (4,250) beat Kevin Pringle and then took the lead when Kevin Kay (5,260) beat Chris Saville to give them a 2-1 lead after the singles matches.  The first doubles game saw Pringle & Saville (1,710) win to tie the scores once again, but then Fullager & Cook (2,110) regained the lead for the Chantry and gave them an overall aggregate points lead of 660.  This meant that the Alma side needed to win the last leg of this semi-final by more than 660 points in the triangle format game to secure a place in the final. But with Wack Sampson partnering Saville in this game, they both played the table well and with some solid scoring they won with a total of 2,610, and turned the deficit into a 760 points winning margin to see the Alma Lions side through to the Final.
