With two rounds of the group stage of the Summer League remaining, the Plough & Harrow from Tilmanstone have taken a surprise lead in Group A, after a 5-1 win at the Brickmakers Arms A.  Brian Carpenter (2010) took the first singles, before Ann Keen won 1820-1500, and Karen Keen defeated Ann Garlinge 1930-1600 for a 3-0 advantage.  Ann Keen & Carpenter then took the first doubles for the match, followed by another success for Karen & Ann Keen.  Paul Garlinge & Ann Garlinge at last won the final leg, after Carpenter hit an unlucky black peg after leading by more than 2000 points.

The Butchers Arms beat the Magnet A 4-2, leaving the Magnet back in third place.  Doug Vickers beat Mike Callanan 2960-2550, before John Higgins (3810) levelled matters.  Harry Pearson (1710) next regained the Butchers Arms lead, and then partnered Ruth Collins to a 3870-3250 victory.  Mike & Lin Callanan scored 2710 to take the penultimate frame, but Ruth Collins & Doug Vickers totalled 3130 to capture the final leg and the match.

The Market Inn made the short walk to the Greyhound in Sandwich and came away 4-2 winners, a crucial victory in Group B.  Gareth Butcher (3310) and Alan Farra (5800) put the Market 2-0 up, but Craig Carlson (2290) pulled a point back for the Greyhound.  Alan Farra, who played well all night, partnered first Christine Farra and then Dave Carliell to win the first two doubles, scoring 4860 in the former frame.  Daniel Jackson & Dave McNeily defeated Gareth Butcher & Christine Farra 2770-2310 to win the final leg for the Greyhound.
