At the half-way stage of the Summer League, the Magnet A maintained their five point gap at the top of Group A by drawing at home to the Alma 3-3.  Mike Callanan (4130) put the home side ahead, John Higgens edged Rick Cowdrey 1590-1230 to extend their advantage, before Bill Edwards (3610) claimed the first Alma point.  Ward Griffiths & Mike Callanan scored 3940 in the first doubles for a 3-1 lead, but then the Alma took a close frame as Rick Cowdrey & Edwards defeated Mike & Lin Callanan 2780-2220.  Edwards then partnered Shirley Cowdrey in the final game to victory and a drawn match.

The Butchers Arms beat the Brickmakers A 5-1 to ensure they still have a chance of a top-two finish.  Paul Garlinge beat Harry Pearson 1380-1160 to initially put the Brickies in front, but singles wins for Doug Vickers (2210) and Paul Collins (2300) saw the Butchers Arms move ahead.  Ruth Collins & Phil Court won the first doubles, and Court then partnered Paul Collins to a close 2540-2040 victory against Paul & Ann Garlinge.  Pearson & Ruth Collins scored 2940 in the final frame to wrap up the match.

In Group B, the Plough & Harrow from Bridge won 4-2 in Sandwich against the Market Inn and are well clear at the top.  Alan Farra (2990) put the home team ahead, but Ian Dennett (2810) and Keith Symes (3180) reversed the situation in the other singles.  Dennett & Baz Symes won a nail-biting first doubles against Dave Carliell & Gareth Butcher, but only after Carliell black-pegged needing the 200 to win.  A competitive frame was then won 5620-3860 for Dennett & Keith Symes to secure the match victory, but Christine Farra & Alan Farra won the final frame 4390-3710.

The Greyhound beat the Magnet B 4-2 at home, and the Sandwich side are now level with their near-neighbours the Market Inn.  Craig Carlson (5500), and Dave McNeily (2310) took the first two legs for the Greyhound, before Daniel Jackson just edged Steve Philpott 2020-1820, including clipping the red ball down the 200 hole after the bar had dropped, for 3-0.  The Deal side then fought back as Tanya Philpott & Steve Philpott won, followed by a close 2920-2470 win for Chris Gent & Tanya Philpott over Roger Beadle & McNeily.  Carlson & Beadle held their nerve in the final frame to claim the bonus points.
