Group A saw the Plough & Harrow from Tilmanstone stay top after a 4-2 win at home to the Brickmakers A.  Ann Keen, Karen Ken (3460) and Brian Carpenter won the three singles for the Plough, but Ann Garlinge & Craig Lancaster took the first doubles to halt the Plough’s progress.  Ann & Karen Keen took the penultimate doubles to secure the bonus points, and Lancaster & Paul Garlinge won the final frame for second point for the Brickies.

The Magnet A closed the gap at the top with an emphatic 6-0 win against the Butchers Arms.  John Higgens (4400), Mike Callanan (3340) and Lin Callanan (1980) swept the singles before them, and Ward Griffiths partnered Higgens in the first doubles to secure the match victory.  The final two doubles also fell to the Magnet, Mike Callanan & Griffiths high-scoring with 3980.


In Group B, the all-Sandwich affair between the Market Inn and the Greyhound finished in a 3-3 draw.  Dave Carliell (2010) put the Market Inn ahead, before Dave McNeily levelled matters for the Greyhound.  Craig Carlson then won a key frame against Alan Farra 5000-3900 to put the visitors in front.  Matt Brown, making a welcome return after a broken leg, partnered Farra  to win the first doubles with 3700 to make it 2-2, and Carliell & Christine Farra again won the hand the market Inn the initiative.  A tense final frame was finally won by Carlson & Roger Beadle against Carliell & Brown 2140-2030 to complete the draw.

The other Group B between the Brickmakers B and the Magnet B also finished in a 3-3 draw.  Paul Dargan (2310) and Nick Corck (4200) put the Brickies 2-0 up, before Tanya Philpott beat Simon Jones 1680-1310 for the Magnet.  Chris Gent & Steve Philpott took the first doubles, and a close 2180-1840 victory for Tanya Philpott & Gent put the Magnet ahead for the first time.  Jones & Corck rallied in the final leg to score to beat Steve & Tanya Philpott 3470-2990 to ensure the points were shared
