In Group A, the Royal Oak beat the Chantry 4-2, narrowing the gap at the top.  Gary Clarke (3860) and Alan Smith (2960) put the Oak 2-0 up, before Mick Nichol (2760) pulled a point back.  Richard Cousens & Smith took the first doubles, but the Chantry again fought back to take the next doubles.  A close final leg was won 1720-1480 for Clarke & Cousens for the match victory.

The Magnet A beat the Brickmakers B 4-2 to move clear in third place.  Simon Jones put the Brickies ahead, but excellent wins for Ward Griffiths (2650) and Mike Callanan (5400) gave the magnet advantage.  Griffiths & Callanan then took the first doubles, before Jones & Nick
Corck fought back for the Brickies.  The Brickmakers mini-revival was halted, however, as Mike & Lin Callanan won the final frame.

The Magnet B, without a win in the Spring Cup, produced a stunning 6-0 victory against the Fitzwalter Arms.  Tanya Philpott (2410), Chris Gent (2760) and Steve Philpott (2660) swept the singles, and the first two doubles also fell to the Magnet B.  Steve Philpott & Chris Gent beat Mark Graves & Carl Byford for the whitewash, but only after a brave attempt by
Graves to pot the final ball down the 200 for victory, as the ball clipped the black peg by a whisker.
The
Market Inn B from Sandwich travelled to Ashley and won 5-1 against the Butchers Arms.  Derek Latham (4460) put the visitors ahead, before Doug Vickers beat John Skinner 2140-1820.  Craig Carlson regained the lead, a late 1390 break proving just enough to defeat Paul Collins 2570-1700.  Ted Hogben played and won all three doubles, including a narrow 1630-1590 for Hogben & Skinner against Phil Court & Ruth Collins.  Skinner had to pot the final ball down the 100 to win to complete a 380 break.

The
Market Inn A defeated the Plough & Harrow from Tilmanstone 4-2 in Group C.  Alan Farra (4120) took the first leg courtesy of a 2360 break, Ron Beer (1940) levelled for the Plough, before Gareth Butcher restored the Market Inn lead with an 1890 break and a 3660 score.  The first two doubles followed suit to hand match victory to the Sandwich side, but the final frame was won by Beer & Karen Keen, 1560-1230 against Butcher & Christine Farra.

An excellent result for the Greyhound from Sandwich as they travelled to Deal and drew 3-3 with the Alma Gills.  Alma wins for Rick Cowdrey (3640) and Bill Edwards (4960) were separated by a success for Dave McNeily (1850).  John Mitchell & Dave Howarth took the first doubles, but the Greyhound fought back as first Roger Beadle & Daniel Jackson won, and then Jackson & McNeily edged a close final leg against Howarth & Paul Callanan.
