The Chantry beat the Brickmakers B 4-2 to remain top of Group A.  Points for the Chantry via Kevin Kay (5470) and Mick Nichol (7650) were separated by a win for Simon Jones (5530) for the visiting Deal side.  Nichol & Kay took the first doubles, before the bonus points were claimed in a last-ball game as Roger Standen & Nichol beat Simon Hart & Nick Corck 1900-1810.  Corck & Paul Dargan won the final leg for the Brickies.

The Royal Oak travelled to deal and came away 6-0 winners at the Brickmakers B.  Stuart Richardson (2540), Gary Clarke (3780) and Alan Smith (6660) took the singles, and when Clarke & Richard Cousens defeated Paul Garlinge & Alan Holmwood 1790-1260, the match was secure for the Oak.  The final two doubles fell comfortably to the visitors, Cousens & Smith high-scoring with 2660.

Another impressive display for the Alma Lions, with a 6-0 win at home to the Magnet B, stretched their lead in Group B.  Chris Saville (10060), Neville Potts (10890) and Wack Sampson (8080) were all in excellent form as they took the singles comfortably, but the doubles were closer.  Terry Laslett played exceptionally well in all three doubles as he partnered Saville, Potts & Sampson to victory, although the Magnet were unlucky to finish without a point.  Tanya Philpott was particularly unfortunate, losing goods breaks in her doubles.
The Fitzwalter Arms and the Butchers Arms drew 3-3, leaving the other qualifying places in Group B very open.  Mark Graves (4140) and Roger Oldfield (1830) gave the Fitz a decent start, but Paul Collins (1680) pegged back their lead.
Graves & Steve Lake took the first doubles, but the Butchers Arms fought back with wins for Paul Collins & Doug Vickers, and finally a close 1600-1300 victory for Ruth Collins & Vickers to force the draw.

The Plough & Harrow from Bridge won 5-1 at home to the
Market Inn A , thereby taking control in Group C.  Baz Symes (4920), Ian Dennett (8450) and Keith Symes (8950) all won, the latter recording an 8260 break.  The match victory was secure after the first doubles, a leg that included an 1860 break using triangles, again for Keith Symes.  Gareth Butcher & Christine Farra won a close doubles for the Market Inn's point, before Dennett & Baz Symes wrapped up the final frame.
The Plough & Harrow from Tilmanstone drew 3-3 at home to the Alma Gills.  Rick Cowdrey just beat Ron Beer 2140-2050 after sinking the red ball down the 200 hole, before Harry Pearson (2530) put the
Alma 2-0 up.  Ann Keen clawed a point back for the Plough, finishing with the red down the 100 to beat Shirley Cowdrey 2170-2110.  The first two doubles fell to the Plough to put them ahead, notable for a 1260 break for Ann Keen.  Dave Howarth & John Mitchell scored 3410 in the final leg to force the draw.
