The title chasing Lion team enjoyed a 4-2 win at the Market Inn A to keep in touch at the top.  After the Lion won all the singles via Chris Saville (5980), Tim Hayes (3110) and Neville Potts (5860) they were looking for a big win.  However, the first two doubles were won by the Market Inn A , both very close games.  First, Gareth Butcher potted the last ball down the 100 hole as he and Christine Farra beat Potts & Terry Laslett, then Alan Farra sank the last ball down the 200 to beat Laslett & Wack Sampson.  Hayes & Saville comfortably won the final leg for the match victory.
The
Royal Oak beat basement side the Market Inn B 4-2 in Nonnington.  Alan Smith (4560) and Stuart Richardson (3940) put the home side 2-0 up, but a good win for Ted Hogben (4140) gave the Sandwich team hope.  Richard Cousens partnered first Richardson and then Gary Clarke to wins in the first two doubles to ensure the bonus points for the Oak, but the
final leg was taken by Craig Carlson & John Skinner for the visitors.

In Division 2, the Brickmakers B beat the Greyhound 5-1, and have a rearranged fixture against the Magnet B which is effectively a play-off for the runners-up spot.  Simon Hart edged Daniel Jackson 2270-1920, before wins for Simon Jones (4510) and Nick Corck (2770) put the Brickies 3-0 up.  The first two doubles also went to the home side, before the Greyhound consolation point was won by Daniel Jackson & Roger Beadle.

The Magnet B defeated the Fitzwalter Arms B 6-0 to move into third.  Rob Robertson (3380), Steve Philpott (2240) and Chris Gent (1720) swept up the singles, and Steve & Tanya Philpott beat Lisa Goddard & Nigel Scott 2010-1550 in the first doubles to put victory beyond doubt.

The Butchers Arms completed a good season with a 3-3 draw at home to the Brickmakers A.  Paul Collins put the Butchers Arms ahead, Paul Garlinge (3150) levelled matters, and Daryl Pemble (2290) put the Ashley side back in front.  Ann & Paul Garlinge narrowly won the first doubles, Paul Garlinge & Craig Lancaster gave the Brickies the lead, and finally Doug Vickers & Pemble salvaged the draw for the Butchers Arms.
