The Chantry still lead with one game remaining, thanks to a 4-2 home win against the Market Inn A.  Mick Nichol (2790), Kevin Kay (4160) and John Fullager (3600) swept up the singles points for the Chantry, but first doubles saw Dave Carliell & Len Carlson beat Nichol & Kay 2950-2030.  The home side took the next doubles to secure the bonus points, but the Market grabbed the final leg courtesy of a 3740-3300 win for Gareth Butcher & Christine Farra.
The Lion, playing at the
Alma in Deal following the closure of their pub in Ash, beat the Fitzwalter Arms 6-0, maintaining the pressure on the Chantry.  Neville Potts (6930) opened with a winning 4620 break, Tim Hayes break of 5460 saw off Roger Oldfield, and Chris Saville (5610) won the final singles on his debut for the Lion team.  The doubles saw good contributions from both Terry Laslett and Wack Sampson to complete the whitewash, despite Chris Saville forgetting the maximum 2000 rule and losing his break.
The Plough & Harrow from Bridge beat the doomed
Market Inn B side 5-1 in Sandwich .  Derek Latham (3410) gave the home side a great start, but it was downhill from there for the Market Inn B.   Ian Dennett (4360) and Keith Symes (6620) took the next two frames, and the first two doubles also fell to the Plough.  Keith Symes & Ian Dennett defeated Derek Latham Craig Carlson 5240-3890 in the final leg for the final 5-1 scoreline.

In Division 2, runaway leaders The Alma won 4-2 at the Brickmakers A in a very closely contested match.  Rick Cowdrey beat Paul Garlinge 1880-1670 to put the
Alma up, before Ann Garlinge just edged Dave Howarth 1870-1860 to level matters.  John Mitchell (2160) restored the Alma lead in the final singles.  After the Alma also took the first doubles, another frame was won by just 10 points as Rick Cowdrey & Bill Edwards triumphed against Ann & Paul Garlinge.  Paul Garlinge & Craig Lancaster took the final frame for their second point.
The Greyhound and the Magnet B shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw.  Rob Robertson (3640) put the Magnet ahead, Daniel Jackson (5430) levelled the tie, before Chris Gent won to re-establish the lead for the visitors.  Steve Philpott & Rob Robertson took the first leg, but the
Greyhound fought back with a win for Daniel & Jim Jackson.  A tense final leg went to the last ball as Dave McNeily and Daniel Jackson defeated Tanya & Steve Philpott 2570-2510.
The Plough & Harrow succumbed to home defeat in Tilmanstone, 4-2 against the Brickmakers B.  Ann Keen (3520) gave the Plough a decent start, but Simon Jones (2650) and Nick Corck (1640) raced the Brickies ahead.  Simon Jones & Simon Hart scored 4670 in the first doubles, and after the next doubles also fell to the Brickies the match was theirs.  Karen Keen & Ann Keen scored 3830 to take the final frame.
The Butchers Arms from Ashley travelled to Goodnestone and came away 4-2 winners against the Fitzwalter Arms B.  Daryl Pemble,
Phil Court and Paul Collins won the singles to put the Butchers 3-0 up, but the first doubles went to the last ball as Nigel Scott & Carl Byford beat Doug Vickers & Ruth Collins 1570-1550 for a point to the Fitz.  Lisa Goddard & Nigel Scott defeated Paul & Ruth Collins by just 80 points to continue the Fitz revival, but Vickers & Court took the final frame and the bonus points for the Butchers Arms.
