The other match in the group saw leaders Plough & Harrow from Bridge extend their lead with a 5-1 win over their namesakes, the Plough & Harrow from Tilmanstone.  All three singles went to the home side, the Plough Bridge , as Keith Symes (7090), Paddy Maher (4130) and Ian Dennett (6320) pulled a straight furrow towards victory.  Brian Carpenter & Karen Keen took the first doubles to ensure the Plough Tilmanstone gained at least some share, but the next frame saw a 7980 score for Ian Dennett & Baz Symes to put the match beyond reach.  Mark Maher & Keith Symes defeated Ann Keen & Brian Carpenter 4500-2180 in the final game of the evening.

In Group B, the Magnet A travelled to
Sandwich and enjoyed a 4-2 against the Market Inn.  Singles wins for Mike Callanan (3990), John Higgens (3680) and Ward Griffiths (2580) gave the Magnet a 3-0 lead, and victory was ensured in the first doubles as Lin Callanan & Ward Griffiths won.  Craig Carlson & Christine Farra beat John Higgens & Lin Callanan 3500-3010 in a close frame, and in the final game Christine & Alan Farra also won to restore Market Inn pride.

Business as usual in Group C as the Lion won 5-1, this time at the
Alma .  Early singles successes for Wack Sampson (3660) and Neville Potts (4300) gave a 2-0 lead to the Lion, but Harry Pearson & Bill Edwards took the first doubles to give the Alma hope.  Terry Laslett was in form as he partnered Wack Sampson to a 4900-3910 win, and a rearranged singles game saw Tim Hayes (2740) secure the bonus points.  In the final doubles Terry Laslett knocked his second maximum 2000 break of the evening as he and Hayes beat Rick Cowdrey & Harry Pearson 4840-3720.

The Magnet B defeated the Brickmakers A 4-2 to complete a good evening for the Deal pub.  Tanya Philpott (1730) took the first leg, but Paul Garlinge fought back for the Brickies as he beat Rob Robertson 2210-1700.  Steve Philpott (3420) next restored the Magnet lead.  A close first doubles was taken 2080-1810 by Craig Lancaster & Ann Garlinge against Tanya & Steve Philpott to again level the tie, but from there the Magnet took control as first Rob Robertson & Tanya Philpott (2760) and then Steve Philpott with Robertson won their frames.
