The Chantry and the Royal Oak drew 3-3 in Canterbury.  Mick Nichol scored 6270 and Roger Standen also won to give the home side a 2-0 lead, but Alan Smith pulled a leg back for the Royal Oak.  A close first doubles was won 4550-3780 by Gary Clarke & Alan Smith against Kevin Kay & Mick Nichol, and the Royal Oak also took the next doubles for a 3-2 lead.  Nichol & Standen rallied for the Chantry to take the final frame and the draw.
Another game, another win for the Lion as they beat the Plough & Harrow from Tilmanstone 6-0 in Ash.  Singles wins for Paul Smart (3960), Neville Potts (5590) and Tim Hayes (5490) put last week's aberration behind them.  Potts win included a 5100 break.  The doubles followed a similar pattern, with Wack Sampson featuring in all three.
A 3-3 draw was fought out in Deal between the Alma B and the Market Inn A.  Early wins for Gareth Butcher and Christine Farra put the Market Inn in front, before a terrific 3490-3470 victory for Dave Howarth against Alan Farra pulled a point back for the Alma.  Bill Edwards & Howarth took the first doubles, and then Harry Pearson &
Edwards put the Alma in front.  Singles winners Gareth Butcher & Christine Farra teamed up in the final leg to force the draw for the Market.
The Brickmakers A earned a creditable 3-3 draw away to the Magnet A.  Ward Griffith took the first leg for the Magnet, but Nick Corck levelled the tie.  John Higgens restored the Magnet lead in the final singles, before Corck & Alan Holmwood beat Lin Callanan & Griffiths 820-650.  Mike & Lin Callanan was again restored the Magnet lead, but inevitably Holmwood & Craig Lancaster  took the final frame for the draw.

In Group B, the Alma A had a good win in Sandwich, 4-2 against the Market Inn B.  Singles wins for Chris Saville, Ted Batchelor (5550) & John Mitchell (4240) gave early advantage to the Alma, but the Market Inn fought back by taking the next two frames as Craig Carlson & Derek Latham (5710) and Latham & Daniel Jackson won.  Saville & Batchelor, however, wrapped up the bonus points for the Alma in the final leg.
The Magnet B had an emphatic 6-0 victory at the Brickmakers B.  Singles wins for Tanya Philpott, who beat Simon Jones 1310-920, Rob Robertson (3540) and Steve Philpott (3960) gave the visitors the perfect start.  The doubles continued in similar fashion as the Magnet B picked up maximum points.

Sunday 16th March was Kent knockout competition day, and there was plenty of local success against players from as far afield as Medway and Tunbridge Wells.  Alan Farra and Daniel Jackson, who play for the Market Inn in Sandwich, won the Kent pairs after remaining undefeated throughout the group stages and eventually beating Alma team registered Les Green and Anne Green in the final.  The Pairs matches were based on aggregate scores over two legs, and Farra opened the first leg with a 9000 break, which his opponents were unable to peg back.
Alan Farra enjoyed further success by winning the Kent Over 50s tournament.  When he eventually reached the final, he was up against another local player, Alan Smith from the Royal Oak in Nonnington.
The Kent Alternate Rules Singles competition was played, and Derek Latham finished runner-up after battling his way through the group stages, quarter and semi-finals.  In the final Latham, who plays for the Market Inn in Sandwich, lost to Mark Foster from Medway
