IIn Group B, the Greyhound earned a decent 3-3 draw at home to the Magnet A.  John Higgens (2050) gave the Magnet the lead, before Daniel Jackson beat Mike Callanan 3280-1080 to level the tie and avenge his defeat at the hands of Callanan earlier in the season.  Roger Beadle beat Ward Griffiths by just 100 points to give the Greyhound the lead in the final singles.  When Daniel Jackson & Jim Jackson trounced their opponents with a score of 4950 a first victory for the Sandwich side looked possible, but the visitors fought back with wins for Lin Callanan & Ward Griffiths, and finally Mike & Lin Callanan.
The Market Inn moved to the top of the group with a 5-1 win at home to the Butchers Arms.  Gareth Butcher won a close game 1980-1310 against Ruth Collins, and Alan Farra (3480) made it 2-0 to the Market Inn.  The third singles saw a deserved point for the Butchers Arms as Paul Collins defeated Dave Carliell 1570-1190.  All three doubles were then won by the Market Inn, including a close final leg win 2940-2280 for Craig Carlson & Gareth Butcher against Ruth Collins & Doug Vickers.

In Group C, the
Alma won 4-2 at the Magnet B in a close match.  Steve Philpott (3130) gave the Magnet an early lead, but the Alma moved ahead through wins for Chris Saville (3560) and Rick Cowdrey (3540).  Steve Philpott & Rob Robertson beat Dave Howarth & Chris Saville 3350-2310 to level the tie, before the Alma again moved ahead, as Saville & Rick Cowdrey (4480) were victorious.  The Alma took the bonus points as Rick Cowdrey, in excellent form all evening, made it three wins from three games as he partnered Dave Howarth to the final victory.
The Lion took maximum points as they beat the Brickmakers Arms A 6-0.  Singles wins for Tim Hayes (5120), Wack Sampson (3630) and Neville Potts (6270) gave the Lion all available points from the singles, and there was no respite in the doubles.  Potts & Matt Andrews scored 5910 for their win, Hayes & Paul Smart beat Ann Garlinge & Craig Lancaster 3920-1970, and finally Potts & Smart notched another 5720 points for a resounding victory.
