COMMITTEE NEWSLETTER, DECEMBER 2001.

Dates For Your Diary;  Next committee meeting is on Thursday 17th January at the Alma, Deal.

'A' Interleague and Ladies Sat/Sun 23rd/24th February at the Alma, 'B' interleague Sat 13th April. Venue to be announced. Finals Night will be on Tuesday 14th May and Presentation Night will be on Friday 21st June, both at the Alma.

National Pairs at the Queens, Bournemouth on Sat/Sun March 9th/10th. Details from Chris Saville.

Jersey 2002; At the De Normandie, St Helier, on Sat/Sun 9th/10th November. Prices will be £23 a night half board (sharing). There is an offer of one night being being charged at only £10 for those who book early before 28th February. I will be booking flights later, but expect to pay around £65, so get your £30 deposits to me and I will do the rest.

Registrations;  We have relaxed registrations this year to allow new players to be registered on match cards. We must have full names, especially of new players. If we cannot tell who has played you will forfeit the point.

Spring Cup;  This will be played as per last year, off the spot. Make sure Chris or Dave know your team wish to be entered before the end of the year.

Second Round Knock Outs;  The Open Singles,  Division 1 singles and Men's Pairs have been drawn, don't miss out.

Challenge Cup;  Entries for the next committee meeting. Format will be as normal, three singles and two pairs (at least one lady player) played under triangle rules with aggregate score over the five legs.

Merry Christmas;  The officers and committee of the league wish you all a happy Christmas and a prosperous New year.

The Web Site Reunites A Family!; 

Dave Macworth of the Greyhound was contacted recently by an uncle with whom he had lost contact over 10 years ago. The uncle had spotted Dave's name on our website and had written to the Greyhound. Our thanks go to Steve Purkiss, the Medway Chairman, who submitted our site to all the search engines along with his. Little things like this make all the hard work worthwhile!

Greyhound 'A' Win a Match!; Greyhound 'A' won their first match this season. This only leaves Oak & Ivy 'B' as the only team to break their duck. We thank all the O&I players for their perseverance in their first season.

£100 Reward for new Ideas!; The Natioanal Association are offering a £100 reward for the best new idea for an exciting game of Bar Billiards (clean, so strip bar billiards not allowed). The winning idea will be demonstated at the national Pairs at Bournemouth in March. Ideas to By March 1st To Dave Barnes 4 Harris Rd. Upper Heyford, N r. Bicester Oxon OX25 5TR. They are currently using our triangles for alternate rules, but want other ideas. (Let Chris know as well)

For the stats freaks amongst you information is displayed down to match cards and individual players entire league records for a season. Any players who do not wish to have their data published here please let Chris or Dave know. We welcome suggestions for improvements to the site (clean ones only).
